Run Mac Menu Actions with Reusable Command Sequences
Turn a repeated menu action into a keyboard command with Cursor Crane. Describe the action to an AI coding assistant and let it generate a workflow you can run again with a command sequence or shortcut.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Open Settings > Scripts and locate the selected script folder. Cursor Crane generates AGENTS.md and .cursorcrane/cursorcrane.d.ts there, alongside examples that an AI assistant can use as a reference.
Identify the target app and the exact menu path you want to run, using the menu titles as they appear in your app.

Open the script folder in your AI coding tool, or give an assistant with local file access its path.

Describe the menu action and ask it to create a workflow. Replace the app and menu path in this prompt with your own:
Read AGENTS.md, .cursorcrane/cursorcrane.d.ts, and the workflow examples in this folder. Create a Cursor Crane workflow that runs “File > New Window” in [app name] when that app is in the foreground. Save it in this folder. Ask me if you need the exact menu titles or other information.

Refresh the list in
Settings > Scriptsand assign the generated workflow a command sequence or shortcut. -
Bring the target app to the foreground and run it. Check that the intended menu action happens.

To add more steps, describe their order to the assistant. If the result differs from what you expected, tell it what happened and ask it to adjust the workflow, then refresh the script list and try again.

What to check
Section titled “What to check”Menu paths must match the active app’s actual menu titles, including its language. Try the menu action on its own before combining it with clicks or other steps.
