Scroll a Specific Pane with the Keyboard on Mac

Choose which pane to scroll before you move through its content. Cursor Crane is useful when a Mac window has several scrollable areas, such as a sidebar next to a main document.

Steps

Section titled “Steps”
  1. Run command.enterScrollMode with its configured command sequence or shortcut.
  2. Type the hint for the scrollable region you want.
  3. Use your configured movement keys to scroll that region. For example, an IJKL layout uses I, J, K, and L for up, left, down, and right.
  4. Use number keys to jump by percentage when you want to move farther through the region.

Press Command + R to reload detectable scroll areas if the target has changed.

What to check

Section titled “What to check”

Its movement keys follow your configured layout; ordinary arrow keys still go to the foreground app. If the layout changes, reload the detectable areas before selecting the target again.
