Switch Mac Windows by Typing Keyboard Hints

Choose the Mac window you want directly from its hint instead of cycling through windows. Cursor Crane focuses the chosen window and moves the mouse pointer to its center.

Steps

  1. Trigger command.moveAndFocusToWindow.
  2. Type the hint for the window you want.
  3. Cursor Crane focuses that window and moves the pointer to its center.

If you know the hint, you can jump directly to a window in another Space. Hold Option to open the list when you need to look up its hint; jumping across Spaces does not require opening the list first.

Use a window hint to focus an existing window. If you want to relocate that window to another display or Space, use the separate window-moving workflow.
