Find Text and Move the Text Cursor in Mac Apps

Jump to a word or phrase inside a supported text field without repeatedly moving through characters. Cursor Crane’s Input Mode can find a match or extend your selection to it.

Steps

Section titled “Steps”
  1. Enter Input Mode.
  2. Press Control + W to open text find.
  3. Type a query, then press Up , Down , or Return to jump to a match.

When a word or phrase is already selected, trigger Find Next or Find Previous to reuse the selection as the search text. When no selection is available, Input Mode can use the token under the cursor as the search seed.

Hold Shift while choosing a match to extend the current selection to it instead of replacing the selection.

What to check

Section titled “What to check”

Focus a supported text field and use Input Mode, not Raw Input Mode. This searches the field’s text rather than using OCR to move the mouse over the screen.
